A nervous pre-wedding blog from Almondbury

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the lack of blog, been mega busy with the wedding stuff, cant quite believe its only ten days away. The whole 'country/vintage' them is coming together nicely and I am almost boggled by the amount of floral pattern flashing before my eyes on a daily basis. The cake is made, three tiers, iced, with about a thousand hand made sugar roses in shades of pink and lemon ready to stick on it once assembled. I have also been busy producing forty tablecloths in vintage floral fabrics, and gingham, a zillion miles of bunting in the the same style, table favours in handmade pink rosey paper cones filled with flying saucers, dolly mixtures and pastel coloured sweeties, and too many girlie, flowery, ditsy, oldey worldey goodies to mention, poor Keith!!! I have almost finished my dress too, just the hem to do, and i am off to the flower wholesalers shortly to order a small parks-worth of roses for next friday. Phew, its all go.
We have the rehearsal on thursday evening, and I can honestly say I am a bit nervous. My main concern for the actual day is blubbering all the way through. I cry at other peoples weddings, so what am I going to be like at my own? A snivelling wreck. Cue the waterproof mascara and a hidden pocket in the fancy cream frock for some kleenex.
Really looking forward to having the whole family together, and we are having a barbeque at home on the friday before for everyone thats stopping up here for the two days. Mad though it might be the night before we get married, i love having the family round and its the first 'big bash' sinced we moved here.
So although I may not have much time to blog up to the big day, I will pop on for my nighty read. And will definately put some photo's on of the event itself! I will try to add a pic here today, its of the old coal bucket on which I am standing the wedding cake. I have countryfied it too, what a surprise!
Take care and see you all soon

Oh this all sounds gorgeous Sue....just perfect. yes, yes, to waterproof mascara and Kleenex. Homeopathic Arg Nit is very good if you think you'll get nervous... but really, just remember it's your day and ENJOY IT!!!! It will go by in such a whirl that just try to grab hold of every second. One thing I wish we'd done was to put disposable cameras on the tables and ask guests to snap away at whatever they fancied - then gather them up and print them off...gives you lovely pics of all the moments that the official photographer won't catch. of course, you really need Blossom for that duty....

Oh, and don't drink too much Buck's Fizz in the morning - that was my downfall!

Can't wait to see the photos as it sounds as if it will be wonderful and well worth the effort and Jane is right it will go fast so take a moment to breath and absorb it all on the day.

Ah it will be wonderful and we are looking forward to hearing all about it with photos. We did leaving the disp cameras around too - but the teens mainly got hold of them and just did pics of themselves!

Just remember, its YOUR weddng, so please youself, go with the flow, don't worry about minor things cos you are marrying the man you love!

In case I dont get the chance again sending you every good wish for your future happiness together.

All the best - if only we had all met sooner - we could all be round one big table watching.
No tears - it will be so exciting.
Little cameras on the table
sounds a good thought - lots of more casual shots ensured then.
We want to see loads and loads - lots of love, luck and sunshine. xx

It sounds so lovely, flowers, dress, everything. You will sail through on wings!
We put disposable cameras on tables for a special birthday with interesting results!

Many Congratulations on your coming marriage Sue.
I have just noticed the GORGEOUS pink Candlestick Holders,I adore them. The cake you mention for your Wedding sounds just fabulous, I love the colours.

I loved Breakfast At Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn, and am interested in Joanna Trollope novels too. May the sun shine on your special day Sue.
